Took me at least 1/2 hour to tap that thing into the hole with a plastic dead-blow hammer (the last 1/8 of an inch took the longest), but even a hand grenade won't get that fitting out. The fitting I purchased had a slightly smaller ID hole through it, so it left a little thicker wall than the original pipe. The original pipe was easily distorted to being out of round because of it's thin wall. Hope this helps.
