Hi Steve
I've found that my Rv cowl used to get quite hot as well after shutdown but I added more vents to release the heat out the bottom and problem solved even after shutdown didn't get no where as warm as it did previously
In flight I had noticed it was hot under cowl as alternator was starting to wain and after shutdown cowls on top were extremely hot
Installed vents in bottom of cowl underneath and problem solved
