Not knowing exactly what your hose barb is made of  -its hard to advise.
However, here is a make shift fix assuming its the coolant tube which
      
sticks
    
out of the block a couple of inches....
      
It's steel and it's supposed to be a tight fit in the top of the block.
    
Its
  
fairly easy to move. The problem is keeping it from coming out of the
    
block,
  
not keeping the hose attached.
