Boys and buyers beware.  Could write a book on my Egg experiences.  The botched up construction of those packages was unbelievable.  One arrived in Aust and was dropped. The insurance coy opened the package to see the top plate that held the PSRU to the engine bowed or they thought bent.  I looked at the photo of the “damage” and compared to mine which was not dropped, the package in question was straight!   It was then I realised how ‘dodgy” the packages were.  Flew mine for 60 hours and besides many problems the harmonics annoyed me to the extent that after everything else having been addressed, I removed the package and went rotary.  Do not let any friends or relatives fly behind those packages.  The fact that they are no longer being produced says volumes.  Neil.

One would have naturally thought that a "3rd Generation" PSRU would be the "cat's meow"; but that evidently isn't the case, and it almost cost a pilot and pax in an RV-9A their lives!  The below report (see link) also states that there have been quite a few failures of this PSRU, and one came after only 160 hrs of usage!  Amazing the "snake oil" that is out there and ready to hurt people...

I hope to get after the 13B FWF on my RV-9A this winter and have it ready for an engine run in Feb or March when it warms up a bit.  This FWF package is the one that I bought from Tommy James back in 2005 or 6 (has it been that long ago?), and he flew it for 60 hrs or so in his Glastar.  It is really time to get it finished up I think!

Fly safe out there!
