Hmm... this is curious. The seller says 'fits 86-91',=20 so that should be 2nd gen. I wonder if the turbo flywheel is larger diamete= r=20 (same diameter as the flexplate). Guess I'll call Fidanza & ask, be= fore I=20 contact the seller.

Just out of curiosity, would it be possible to j= ust=20 move the starter closer to the e-shaft centerline to match the smaller flyw= heel?=20 (I do have mine mounted on the plugs side of the engine).

I don'= t really=20 expect to need this flywheel, but if it's useable, I'll hang on to= =20 it.

Thanks for the help,

Charlie

I am not familiar with the " FB or FC " terminology.=C2=A0= =C2=A0 I'm=20 wondering if they mean it is a 1st gen RX7.=C2=A0=C2=A0 I would assume FC= =20 means 2nd gen since 3rd gen is FD.

=20
fits 86-91 Non turbo RX7s might fit Fb 2nd ge= n RX7s as=20 well i'm not 100% sure
Unquote.

It was reasonabl= y priced,=20 since I don't need the wear surface, so I figured it would be '= plan B' if I=20 ever have an issue with the flex plate.

When it arrived (yester= day,=20 after everyone was gone), I sat it on top of my (cracked) flex plate, a= nd=20 it's almost an inch smaller in diameter. The mounting holes in the = center=20 seem to line up properly. I remember reading about milling the drive pl= ate=20 to move the starter .2" closer to the engine, but I don't reme= mber anything=20 about the smaller diameter.

So, my questions:
Did I purchas= e the=20 wrong item, would I simply make my starter cutout in the plate closer t= o the=20 centerline to account for the smaller diameter, or was the flywheel=20 mis-represented?

If it's not the described item, I need to s= end it=20 back, but I don't want to bother the seller if I simply bought the = wrong=20 flywheel.

Thanks,

Charlie
