They = certainly appear to have the technique down to very low (but not No) = risk. Interestingly, most folks (as you suggested) do go for the multifocal = replacements to do away with the need for glasses. My eye doctor was a = bit surprised when I told him if/when I had a replacement lens I wanted = one to maintain my current near-sightness. He was a bit surprised until = he heard my logic. I have only one good eye, I wear polycarbonate lens = for some eye protection - if I got multifoucs lens then there was a = good chance I would not wear my glasses as often - thereby reducing the = protection for the one good eye.
