Here is a nice poor picture of "Push On" hoses.
Notice that these have 1/4" hose clamps installed. Even though I have never had one pull off even before the hose clamp idea. My oil pressure is always 100 PSI hot or cold. My hoses were rated at 200 PSI.
The hose is the very lightest and is Kevlar reinforced. The minimum bend radius is rather large and it can kink.
It is very difficult to install end fittings.
Wrap the hose with a shop rag. Put your hands between your knees with your ankles crossed for maximum clamping power. Hand cleaner on the fitting barbs for lubrication. And get that hose on in one move.
If the hose stops moving it will not (in my experience) move any further.
So you cut it off and start over.
They can be cut or abraded easily. They cannot touch anything that moves. Not even another piece of the same hose. They conduct electricity. A short to high tension will poke a hole in the Kevlar (Carbon) hose.
