Monty and Charlie,

If you could measure the diameters that would be great.

Where did you find the tool with the counter bore?

Price?

Thanks for the input

They make a special cutting tool with a counter bore on it for this job. I'm sure you can accomplish the same thing with a drill, a counterbore, and a couple reamers.

Does anyone know the sizes and configuration used to drill a fuel rail for RX8 injectors?

I think 7/16" will accommodate the first O ring.

Does there need to be a larger diameter to seat the second O ring which is different in shape? It is located close to where the electrical connector branches out.

Thanks for any help.

I've got a factory pair of rails. I can measure the diameter of the injector cups for you tomorrow. If you can use them, I'd be happy to let them go for whatever I paid (was pretty cheap on ebay). This set is for 4 injectors: the 2 in the center housing + 2 on the intake manifold, complete with hoses.

Hi Joe,

I had a jammed up day today & didn't make it to the hangar. My apologies; I promise it will be the 1st thing on my list when I get home tomorrow.

Charlie

Sorry for the delay, but here you go. Attached is a pic of the fuel rail I bought on ebay a few weeks ago. The cups measure approx. 0.433". A 27/64" drill drops in easily; a 7/16" will not drop in. The injector holes in the center iron measure ~0.708" dia. The cups on the fuel rail have slightly 'bell' shaped openings, but I can't detect any step in their diameters.

Hope that helps....

If you can use the stock rail, I think I have less than $20 in it.
