Bill,

I will be the crash dummy...uh, I mean test pilot.  I spent a few days at the Velocity factory about three weeks ago for transitional training.  I got five hours in a Velocity in addition to the six in a Bonanza and four in a 172 the two weeks before that.   I am a lower time pilot (even though my first lesson was in 1978 and I was licensed in 1983) but you would be surprised, not many folks want to test a "double" experimental.  experimental airframe and experimental engine....go figure?????

I do have a 9000 foot runway which may not hurt....

Chris,

Congrats!  When do you think you will do the first flight?  Will you do it or hire a pilot?

...cuz today, Velocity SE, N17010 with a Mazda 13b turbo rotary engine was granted its Special Airworthiness Certificate.

Wahoo, Yippy and YEA.

100 nautical mile radius surrounding Ellington Field (EFD) in Houston.  When out of Phase One, and properly equipped, night and IFR.

OMG, I may now actually have to go out and fly this thing.....no, not a thing, airplane.
