That is a good point. You would only need the Peltier to stabilize the temperature - you could use a traditional heating element to get it up to operating temperature in the first place. Great, a rotary that starts like a diesel! :)

You definitely wouldn't try to cool them. You'd design them to
operate at 220 or something, an then heat them just like you do with
oxygen sensors.
