I don't think you'd have any kind of scraper seal running across a window,
diamond or otherwise. Once you scratch it you lose definition. Depending on
wavelength, lasers typically go through BK7 or fused silica windows. Neither is
particularly scratch resistant. The thing is, lasers are optical, optics require
clarity and cleanliness. I'd have more faith in re-firing a fouled plug than for
a fouled optical system to get better when I need it the most.

If you've got a film building up on the rotor housing's chrome face,
aren't you behind the curve already? I could see it being a problem
in a piston cylinder's head. I've had to chip off gunk with a
screwdriver it had built up so thick. But they aren't constantly being
wiped by an apex seal like in a rotary.
