Yes, it is a supercharger, but he had some problems with how it was plumbed and so it was disconnected when I saw it. I didn't catch the make. He hadn't been flying long since the install. In fact, I think someone else did the install although he did mention he had plans for some significant changes to the cooling system in the near future.

P.S. Did Bobby Hughes happen to mention there were SNAKES IN THE HANGAR!!!

Mark: Is that a supercharger on Lyle Moss's Glasair ? What kind of performance is he getting from the LS1 and Whatever Booster that is. it looks like a Paxton.

Most of the trip was at between 20-22 MAP with the c/s prop set at 1700rpm. We kept the speeds between 160 and 170mph most of the way. Even at 180 I was still getting around 15 mpg, but fuel burn went up a bit as you would expect (no free lunches).

Mark: What kind of speed vs power setting/fuel burn? what altitude ?

We could see the front just a few miles off to the west as we headed south. We had a 15-20 mph headwind all the way home, but the air was clear and fairly smooth. Bobby stopped for the night in Tyler, TX to visit his sister while I headed on to Lockhart arriving just after dark. My first night landing in a long time was the best one of the trip,... go figure.
This trip gave me time to get more familiar with the finer tuning of the EM-2. Using modes 4 and 5, I was able to balance the mixtures for the three rotors so that I was able to lean the A/F down to 9.5 - 10.5 gph. I landed in Lockhart 5 hrs, 2 minutes flight time with 42 gallons left in the tanks. Heck, I could have made it all the way to the Gulf of Mexico before needing to buy fuel. I love my rotary and the Lancair! What a great match!
We had a wonderful time and look forward to next year's gathering. A big
thanks to all who opened their homes, hangars, and arms to a couple of
Texas rotorheads.
