We are really sorry we had to head home early, but glad we did as the weather was moving into the area.  We could see the front just a few miles off to the west as we headed south.  We had a 15-20 mph headwind all the way home, but the air was clear and fairly smooth.  Bobby stopped for the night in Tyler, TX to visit his sister while I headed on to Lockhart arriving just after dark.  My first night landing in a long time was the best one of the trip,... go figure.

This trip gave me time to get more familiar with the finer tuning of the EM-2.  Using modes 4 and 5, I was able to balance the mixtures for the three rotors so that I was able to lean the A/F down to 9.5 - 10.5 gph.  I landed in Lockhart 5 hrs, 2 minutes flight time with 42 gallons left in the tanks.  Heck, I could have made it all the way to the Gulf of Mexico before needing to buy fuel.  I love my rotary and the Lancair!  What a great match!

We had a wonderful time and look forward to next year's gathering.  A big thanks to all who opened their homes, hangars, and arms to a couple of Texas rotorheads.
