The oil metering pump can easily be modified to use oil from an external reservoir.  A photo of how I did this is in the archives.  Search for "oil metering pump" and check messages from me.  This pump modification has worked fine for me for over 250 hours and averages a little less than one ounce of oil per gallon of fuel.

Got it. 
So can the metering pump be modified to pull 2-Cycle oil from a reservoir rather than tapping into the normal oil source?
