It is typical in junk yards to remove engines and leave them sitting on the
flywheel or flex plate. Left on the flywheel just endangers the rear thrust
bearing and thrust plate.
Sitting on the flex plate does that plus bends the flex plate. Bent flex
plates have been mistreated. A specialty yard that knows about flex plates
and rotaries might do much better than conventional yards.
Nobody buys an engine to get the flex plate. If you buy an automatic engine
you already have a flex plate and will discard the bent flex plate, or sell it
on Ebay.......................right?
