does the metal type of the washer mat= ter?  or only that it is compatible with the other metals it will be ma= ting with?

Scott,

I have used the pumps with the 10mmx1.0 connection without leak problem= s.  I use a soft aluminum or soft copper crush washer between the pump a= nd fitting, not a rubber o-ring.  The mating surfaces should be square a= nd smooth and could be retooled in a lathe if needed.  The thread is&nb= sp;a straight thread, not tapered, so it doesn't seem like trying to seal th= e joint in the threads with tape or other sealant would work very well.

I have in= line fuel pumps from Tracy from a while back.  They were from Napa and w= ere the 74028 flavor( http://www.summitracing.com/parts/CRT-P74028/?rtype=3D10 s= eems most like them currently ) Tracy used to provide.

The fixed hose= barb side of course does not leak, but on the screw fitting side I have a 1= 0mmx1.0( http://ww= w.summitracing.com/parts/RUS-670480/ ) with an o-ring and everytime I th= ink I have the fuel drip fixed and start the pump without the engine it does= n't leak.  But, after a short engine run the drip returns.
As I burned out one of the pumps already( important safety note make sure t= he fuel selector valve is not off while you have the pump turned on and are c= hecking for leaks ) and will need to replace it what other inline pumps have= folks been using?  The 74028 flavor fuel pumps, the 10mm fits but does= not seal.  I did not use thread tape or other thread sealer.  And no amount of tightening seems to keep it fro= m leaking again.

Thoughts on a fuel pump substitute?  Way to sea= l that fitting to the existing 74028 pump?

Thank You.
