For the oil I use Red Line straight 40 weight racing synthetic. For high film strength. Better heat transfer. Higher percentage anti scuff compounding and much higher anti foaming content.  A big problem for rotaries. In the event of an over heated oil problem, the synthetic will still be oil at very high temperatures, where dino oil turns into a black product most often found sprayed on dirt roads to keep dust down. 
 
If the price is too high, I used Valvoline racing 40 weight (dino oil) for years before the Red Line. No oil related failures from 1980 to 2005 (retired)
