That separated wires thing is a must.....no matter if it is the problem or not. Secondary wires should be the spiral Monel inductive stuff from the hot rod shop to cut down radio emissions and cross talk. Another reason is that one cross fire, where a front rotor fireing (180 degrees of advance) induces a hit on the rear housing can clean off the apex seals. It only takes one to kill the housing, rotor bearings and so-on. A solid conductor is OK for testing, but spiral Monel for running at full throttle, full load. Remember sitting at a light and all you can hear in the AM radio is the old truck sitting next to you. The arc between the rotor button and the brass lug in the distributor cap was broadcasting on all frequencies. A major reason for the demise of the distributor. No carbon conductor wires on airplanes.
 
As on the Dyno, make one change. Make the change a big one to see which direction you need to go. Return to the base line, make a change in the opposite direction. Goes quick. Saves money and time.

One of the last things on the list is to send the EC2 back to you, as you alluded to an impedence issue with the CAS setup. Does that sound like a viable plan?
