Subject: [FlyRotary] Intake
question
Greetings,
I was looking at the
latest intake today, and noticed that the secondary ports on the intake are
quite a bit taller than the ones on the engine itself. Attached is a
picture that shows the intake gasket, thought the intake runner to give you
some idea of what the size difference is. The top of the runner is fine,
but the bottom, as shown in the picture, is off by about half and inch.
The question is- how many
people would feel comfortable filling this in with epoxy putty, JB Weld, or
similar glue? It makes me nervous, but it would be such a large
piece, that it couldn't go through the port if it broke, unless it broke
into pieces. Obviously, the surface would be cleaned, and
roughed up to make the best adhesion. What do you
think?
BTW- I'm off for 3
weeks, and my goal is to have the engine running, and perhaps even have
the plane back in the air with the rev-2 configuration by the end of that
time.
Cheers,
Rusty (time to let go of
my EM-2 now Tracy <g>)
