That is so true Charlie! I gave a couple of
student T-38 pilots out of Williams a ride out to their practice area 1985
in my rental C-172. Let the first do a landing but had to come
on the controls w/him in the flare since he wasn't straightening the nose and
was happy to touch down in a crab! Not in my rental!
Anyway after I pointed out his error he immediately said
you never touch the T-38 rudder on final or bad things happen! With
some a/c operations (such as tail-dragger landings), there is still no quick
substitute for practice and proficiency...total time matters
not.
