That's got to be one of the better ways to celebrate a birthday. I used to do free-fall in the military. I'd recommend it for any pilot, just to see what it's like to get out of a plane. We lost a C-130 crew off the Oregon coast in 1997, they had a progressive electrical system failure at around 17,000 feet and stayed with the airplane trying to get the engines re-lit. It was completely outside their comfort zone to be jumping out of a plane, especially over water, so they all went in with it. Only FE or survived, all he remembered was waking up floating in the middle of the ocean. I can tell you, were I there, in a C-130 that turned into a glider, you could not have kept me on board that plane. Brian Trubee Scheduled to have my airworthiness inspection on Tuesday. --part1_69868.7d759fcb.39344778_boundary Content-Type: text/html; charset="US-ASCII" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable
