bought an induction-type =3Btiming li= ght=2C pulled the prop off=2C put the 3000rpm pill in the msd box=2C and ra= n my engine today. =3B starts easier without the prop on=2C plus the we= ather was warmer. =3B timing appears to be dead on 22=B0 like I intende= d. =3B what confuses me is that when I move the timing light clip to th= e other rotor[#2]=2C the light quits firing. =3B I pulled #2 lead = =3Bplug and cranked the engine and saw a spark=2C and the engine actually s= tarted and ran on one rotor[#1]. =3B both lead rotor plugs fire togethe= r from a dual post coil[waste spark]. =3B not sure why the timing light= appears to show that #2 isn't firing. =3B when I switched posts=2C the= n it showed #1 wasn't firing. =3B so it seems =3Bthat the plug wire= is bad=2C except when I pull the plug and lay it on the block=2C I can see= it sparking. =3B the plug wires are blue silicon=2C with a rigid=2C sp= iral wound core wire. =3B they were originally from the Jeff rose elect= ronic ignition on my Lycoming. =3B perhaps they confuse the timing ligh= t? =3B should I pull out my old timing light that used a "T" shaped spr= ing coil to pick up the voltage?
