A small heater core would probably be ok if installed in the return line or upstream of the pump, but I would be very concerned about one in the feed line if it was downstream of the high pressure pump. Better a small evap core if you can find one the right size.  I will be looking for an evap core for cabin heat because of the higher coolant pressures normally run on the rotary engine--don't want hot coolant on my feet.

Have you considered a small heater core from a subcompact car?

Hi Guy's;
    I'm looking for a small, compact fuel cooler of some sort.
