Sorry to hear that rusty.  Your decision makes logical sense, but the whole build-your-own-plane thing dosent make much logical sense anyway J

Greetings,

Well, after 9 weeks, with no word of when my turbo would arrive, I decided to cancel the order.  Yes, as amazing as it sounds, I've now floundered back to the non-turbo plan.  I won't bore you with all the decision process, but the bottom line is that I'll get the plane back to a far more reasonable weight and balance without the turbo.  If I need (relative term) more power, I'll just get one of Tracy's 2..85 drives, and turn up the RPM's to 7500 or so.  The engine is ported, and Bruce said it would make good power to that RPM.  I figure I can get all the power I could want, with less risk to the engine. I won't have the high altitude advantage that a turbo would give, but realistically, I don't fly much over 10k ft anyway.

In other news, I received my one way valves from McMaster Carr today.  They're 12 oz each, which seems pretty heavy, but they're fairly compact, have good specs, and were only $20 each.  I'm sure they'll work fine.

Cheers,

Rusty (should have paid attention to Ed's intake info <g>)
