I shipped back only= the lid with circuit board, as it would have been more complicated to remo= ve the lower housing bolted to firewall. Thanks Ed and Bob, The insight is appreciated. Every experience educates me more. To=20 paraphrase John Slade, if the me of five years ago could see the me of=20 today, he would be impressed by my knowledge....even with this type of=20 trouble. I am more confidant of my knowledge and better yet, my ability=20 to more truly understand. Thanks for breaking it down so clearly. When I post my questions and/or share my experience it is reassuring=20 that while I may receive a couple of (hopefully well meaning) knocks, I=20 am always quite certain I will get solid information that actually=20 helps, educates and moves the process along. Even when a complete=20 answer is impossible, it almost always gives a starting point. Yes, Ed, I am all for it breaking on the ground. Keeps it as a mere=20 frustration. So, back into the "hell whole" to remove and ship my ECU.
