Jeff,
1.Multiply Hp x 42.4 to get BTU/Min.
 Or 2545 BTU/ hr = 1 hp
2.Oil cooler cools 30 % of Rotary heat.
3.?
4. Up to 60 gal a min.

Subject: [FlyRotary] Renesis Cooling Thermodynamics

Hello All,

I’ve started the tail section of an RV-7A and want to power it w/ a Renesis.  I need information about cooling thermodynamics.

Here are my questions:

  1. How much heat must be rejected thru the coolant (in BTUs)?
  2. How much heat must be rejected thru the oil?
  3. What is the temp delta between radiator inlet/outlet in a typical installation?
  4. What is the coolant flow (in GPM) for the stock Renesis cooling system?

If these questions have already been answered, please direct me to those answers.

Thanks for the help,
