As you know I prefer the injectors to be close in flow rate - I think the potential benefits outweigh and drawbacks. Having all four the same, is even better in my opinion in that you only need one size of injectors as spare. More over, should you find yourself turning off one pair, the resulting change in engine operation would be minor (unless running boost of course) Ed Ed Anderson Rv-6A N494BW Rotary Powered Matthews, NC eanderson@carolina.rr.com http://www.andersonee.com http://www.dmack.net/mazda/index.html http://www.flyrotary.com/ http://members.cox.net/rogersda/rotary/configs.htm#N494BW http://www.rotaryaviation.com/Rotorhead%20Truth.htm -----Original Message----- From: Rotary motors in aircraft [mailto:flyrotary@lancaironline.net] On Behalf Of Bill Bradburry Sent: Monday, June 22, 2009 5:08 PM To: Rotary motors in aircraft Subject: [FlyRotary] Re: 295cc vs 495 cc was [FlyRotary] responses to responses, not developing full power Here is the plan I am considering. Please feel free to comment. In light of the fact that the fuel pressure on the Renesis should be 57 lbs in order to get the spec flow from the injectors. I will replace the red injectors with the yellow injectors. Looking at the flow range shown in the manual, this will give a total flow of between 1656CCM and 1872CCM at the spec pressure of 57 psi. At 100% duty cycle, that should support HP of 287-324. If I reduce the fuel pressure from 57 psi to 43 psi, that will reduce the range of the fuel flow to 1438ccm to 1626ccm. At a duty cycle of 85% that will support a HP of 212-240. Pro's: Plenty of fuel at a fuel pressure that allows a higher GPM and lower amp draw. (should easily provide full power on battery voltage only and will increase the no alternator range) Will allow the EC-2 secondary injector differential in Mode 6 to be cancelled. (this is only required? When the injectors are more than 50% different. They will be between 15% and 32% different depending on the range given) Should be able to lower the MAP table here to compensate? Con's: Do you have any yellow injectors? I considered going to only yellow injectors. This will flow the same fuel as the stock setup, but only at the 57 psi. The only advantage here is cancelling the injector differential. What say ye? Tracy are you gone to Co yet?
