On a couple cars I've had the Converter plugged from to much heat, lead in the fuel, or something else I don't know. It reduced the power to about 1/3. Would that be enough to get you back if it happened on a plane? I'm not going to try to find out. Maybe the later ones were better designed to handle the problems in the real world and they might work. Just not on my plane.
