Dave and Mark:
Great write ups guys!!! If you're looking for a cross country on May
9th Mark remember we're doing a burger burn at our private airport just east of
Tinker AFB (2OK2)...paved, 2700 ft long so no issues for non-canards...
Regarding Eggenfelner: I have two buddies doing RV-7's and one finally
received his engine (sans prop) one year after promised, while the other
also waited a year for a prop and finally got his brother-in-law lawyer to write
a letter asking for the prop money back so he could go buy one from someone
else. Hopefully my buddy will get his prop this summer as promised so
he can do his first engine start, etc.
It also appears from the outside looking in that those who have ordered a
"FWF" with a turbo or a super-charger are pretty much on
their own to do the final development and make the thing work safely and
nominally. Problem is we do that by choice and they pay a lot of $$
for the privilege after being told it's a Firewall
Forward deal...
Many of the non-turbo / supercharger guys seem to have an okay FWF package
but cooling is sometimes marginal on hot days and they seem to run 120-140
lbs. heavier than a Lycoming or rotary installation. Well, enough on
Subies...let's talk rotaries!!!
