Totally normal. Those are cracks in the steel die used to make the shape during the casting process. If you rub your hands over the crack, you'll see that they grab your finger. It's extra aluminum, not a gap.

Gents,

This is the first time I have looked at the inside of a front cover.  Are
these "cracks" normal?  Or did my part get stressed somewhere along the line
and now I need a new cover?
