I’ll try to get a photo that shows the pitting.  But it is located in the “bed” where the oil rings set.  Between wear marks left by the springs.  I was surprised to find pitting underneath the rings.  Thanks for your reply.  I might run it by a local shop that rebuilds rotaries.

Hello,

I’m rebuilding an 04 Renesis and have a question regarding pitting on the rotor.  I have discovered slight pitting on the face of the rotor underneath the outer oil ring and the outermost band (scraper?).  The areas are less that an inch in length.  I am inclined to apply the DFW rule (don’t mess with), but I thought I’d throw it out to the group to see if anybody strongly recommends trying to get in that small groove and attempt some sort of repair.
