on the renesis engine I bought, the prior owner
(I forget his name) built a custom oil pan. this was the mod for the oil
pickup. I doubted that fiberglass would do well in a 200 degree plus oil
bath environment. with a cut-off wheel and a screwdriver the fiberglass
literally popped off. that would have not been too cool when flying!
I'm glad Bruce did the overhaul.
