For your information I just received information that the "Mistral" backplate
(to allow use of Lycoming Dynafocal engine mount) that was adaptable to 86-91
Mazda front housings is no longer available (sadly)......."Mistral" now produces
all parts (for certified engines) and eliminated all compromises made to their old
backplates to make it fit the Mazda part and the new production backplate will
not fit the stock housing.......I do not know how many of the older backplates
are out there but attached is a photo of mine........FWIW
