Ed's your man. It's all about the porting. If the port locations on the 1989 are the same as the 1990 and 1991, then you're all set.

You mentioned the 1988 as needing intakes 4 inches longer than the primaries, and that the 1990 and 1991 turbo models should have all intake runners the same length.  Unfortunately, my engine is right between those years....It is a 1989 turbo model.
