 The spring loaded ball valve will be to restrictive, better with a flapper valve.

The listed "CV" rating is defined as: "the amount of water (in gpm) that will pass through a fully open valve at 1 psi with 1 specific gravity (60° F)."   Since the rating for the 1.25" valve was 44, and you'll have one of these for each pump, it seems reasonable to me.   
 
Personally, I may try to make valves that can be welded to the radiator, so they don't take up as much space.  I haven't really collected enough data to know what I'm going to do yet.
