Yup, it sure gets real quiet real suddenly. Now I know what Ed feels like several times a year :-)
Second flight of the day started great with a timed climb to 3000 AGL, then we planned to return to practice circuits ( I still gotta get licensed)

Tomorrow I will find a replacement oil switch and try it all again. I did recently run a wire from the low oil level switch on the sump to the panel but have not installed an idiot light yet. I'd better move that up my list.

I sure can't wait to get an EM2.

Hi Todd,

Congratulations on joining the "Cowl Ornament" club.  That's about all a stopped propeller can be called {:>).  Very glad to hear you got the fan going again quickly as then you will then find that your seat cushion is quickly restored to its proper configuration. Quick and proper diagnostics were clearly the key to getting the other pump going and the fan turning.

I've had the pressure sensing switches go bad on some turbocharger auto's I did back in my younger days.  I finally decided that they were just another source of failure and none-essential in my opinion, so I don't use one in my aircraft.

Boy, between the adventures of your water pump and now this, I know who to suggest to Laura Crook as a Candidate for the next "Lighten strikes 1, 2, ...  times award" {:>)

Needless to say glad you and aircraft made it back safely
