How likely are they to leak or come apart and cause complete oil loss? Hi Wendell, Quality senders like VDO are essentially bullet proof. I wouldn't worry about them at all. You will also note that most senders have a tiny little hole in the threaded end, so as to restrict the rate of oil loss in the event of a leak.
