The first thing you need to do is think about getting a Mac :-)  Otherwise, understand that System Resources have nothing to do with available disk space.
   Unfortunately, for MS Windoze 98, that isn't exactly the case.  The page file (swap file) is dynamically allocated, and *must* be contiguous.  When disc space gets low, the system can run slow or even hang while it's trying to sort out space for the swap file.  Getting more memory can also reduce the size of the swap file, thereby freeing up "system resources".

   Then again, dumping Outlook Express will go a long way toward achieving system stability.  ;)
