John,
The first thing you need to do is think about getting a Mac :-) Otherwise, understand that System Resources have nothing to do with available disk space.
The thing you need to do is make sure that you have deleted any unnecessary messages and that you have emptied the trash (sorry, recycle bin) and emptied the trash folder (or whatever it is called in Outlook Express). Then, you need to compress the email file. What most people don't know is that when you delete a message in Outlook Express, you don't really delete it. It is only marked for deletion. To really delete it, you need to compress the file. I don't know the terminology that Microsoft uses, but look in the File menu for something that kinda looks like "compress" and do it. That will free up TONS of space.
Sorry to brag, but this technicality does not affect Mac users using Mac Mail. Also, these viruses don't affect the Mac either. So, since your computer is borderline ancient, consider upgrading.
Best Regards,
Steve

Ernest; Being a complete computer dunce, the old windows 98 w/Outlook Express that I have, finally posted a note that the disc is full. The C - drive memory says that the system resources are 86% free. I don't have a clue where to go next and free up the Out Express system. This note posted of wife's computer, hope she doesn't see me using it, she says I kill ever thing. JohnD
