Go to the Mistral site. Tracy is getting great numbers too. the Rotary tolerates lean-of-peak operarions very well. The 190 HP mistral engine is posting numbers on par or better than a Lyc. The piston guys WANT to maintain the thought that the rotary is 30% less efficient or somthing. This is total BS. A well set up rotary will get very similar numbers to anything making the same HP. The rotary is still a "roll your own" FWF so in this case the comment YMMV is quite appropriate! The rotary will run on any fuel you want to run as well, in fact may run BETTER on unleaded auto fuel. (around $1.00 gallon savings right now) Tracy ALWAYS runs auto fuel and he says he leans the engine before takeoff. (claims to be a cheapskate) You can simply say that if you do a good job on your FWF and watch the weight your plane will produce good fuel burn numbers.

Thanks to everyone who answered the first round of questions.  Next up is fuel consumption.

Do any of the 20B experts in the group have fuel consumption numbers?  Are there any gallons per hour per horse power comparisons available?  It’s my last big concern about using a rotary.
