please note that my -6A uses a large loop
from the gear leg to the caliper, which reduces the fatigue on this joint.
It has worked fine for 1000 hrs. Avoid a single tight bend, these don't
take the flexing without breaking.

The RV-8 had
a large loop also, and since I couldn't find a drawing that showed how the
RV-3 was supposed to be (the drawings are there, I just didn't initially see
them), I made it like the RV-8 was. The inspector didn't like the loops,
and said that they would vibrate, and break. Since I knew that my RV-8 was
done the same way, I didn't worry about it. I don't think the loop
would have been a problem, if the brakes didn't chatter. Anyway,
these pads will get replaced, and hopefully, that will be the end of the
chattering problem. Heck, these pads are so old that they might even be
asbestos.
