Greetings,

As I pre-think some things I want to try next, one of the thoughts is to make the oil pan into a significant oil cooler if possible.  My proposed single rotor applications will have the engine out in the breeze, so it seems worthwhile to try to get as much cooling as possible from the airflow.  The best way I can think of to do this would be to use a thin aluminum plate for at least the bottom of the pan.  Ideally, it would have heatsink fins on both sides (milled away for the pickup tube on the inside).   Has anyone ever seen aluminum with fins on both sides?  Does anyone have a good source for finned aluminum of any type?   Thanks,
Rusty (sure don't want to mill my own)

I was looking at using finned tubes at one time and had several sources bookmarked.  The catch was always weight.  Everything I could find was really thick.
