I know that I've mentioned this too many times in the past, but I don't know how else to get the message across... I have put the FlyRotary list on autopilot at the request of many of you. The only proviso that I tossed into the mix was that I would leave it unmoderated as long as we self-police the quoteback situation. Well, it's getting out of hand again, and I'm going to start moving people back into moderate mode unless you clean up your acts. I don't know how else to say it, as I've tried asking nicely and that hasn't seemed to work. We are consuming a ridiculous amount of storage with all this repetition and I really need to curtail the problem before it gets totally out of hand. To illustrate, here are some statictics comparing the (moderated) Lancair Mail List to the (unmoderated) FlyRotary list... Total posts (LML)- 20,682 (FlyRotary)- 3,319 Storage used (LML)- 100 megs (FlyRotary)- 43 megs as you can see, the FlyRotary message count is about 16% of the LML, but it uses 43% of the LML storage space. We are a long way from hitting my allocated 1 gb of storage, but I don't see any reason to squander the space. Additionally, I have started skipping over posts that include too many quotes, as I don't have the time to figure out what's new and what's old. I don't imagine I'm alone in this practice, either. If you want your stuff read, please do us all a favor and focus the quotes. Thanks. 'Nuff said.....
