Tracy and all flying rotaries: At what RPM setting should the idle

Hi Buly,

As low as it will comfortably idle would be my suggestion. You would like
to normally get the prop down to 700 to 900 rpm has been my ground rule.
It will depend on much drag you have in the landing confiquration. My 6
could land easily with a 1000 rpm prop, but not so with my 9. The 9
doesn't wish to quit flying at that rpm. All this is very vague, but
think it depends on the airframe and prop combination.

Thanks Bernie,
I'll set it up for 12-1300 Engine rpm. That will give me 6-700 at the prop. Now I can idle down to 900 engine rpm, but it gets rough.
Hope to see you in TX.
Buly
