OK, Rusty, I'll bite. How did you tear the tendon?
    Bashing the water / oil cooler against the wall?
    Lifting the cowl?
    walking into the wall while trying to walk past the cowl with you're eyes shut?
 
It's refreshing to NOT be the biggest smartass in the group for a change :-) 
 
All good guesses, and you're certainly in the right area.  I injured my elbow attempting to tighten one of those POS Earls fittings.  The oil out fitting on the front cover was leaking, and I could barely get my fingertips on the wrench.  Straining on the wrench at an awkward angle is what did it.  It just amazes me how easily I can be damaged now that I'm old (42).
