Here ya' go. I'm holding right now in my sweaty little hands Matco's "W600, W600XT & W600XLT Wheels and Brakes Technical Service Guide Rev I 6/02 SRT" that I recieved about two weeks ago. In chaper "S. Lubricants" on page 27, in the section for hydraulics it calls out "MIL-H-5606/MIL-H-83282 Or equivalent (Red Oils)". Right after that is:
NOTE: Dot 5.1 brake fluid is NOT compatible with MATCO mfg brakes, and will damage the Buna-N o-rings used in the system.
Despite my earlier transgression, that is a direct transcription as accurate as I can transcribe 8*)
