It was from original documentation that someone received with their brakes
some time ago.........

Here ya' go.  I'm holding right now in my sweaty little hands Matco's "W600, W600XT & W600XLT Wheels and Brakes Technical Service Guide Rev I 6/02 SRT" that I recieved about two weeks ago.  Well, see...there I go lying.  It's cold today so my hands aren't a bit sweaty.  And my hands aren't exactly little.  And as I'm typing, you know that I'm not holding the document in my hands.  It's actually sitting on my knee...but anyway...

In chaper "S. Lubricants" on page 27, in the section for hydraulics it calls out "MIL-H-5606/MIL-H-83282 Or equivalent (Red Oils)".  Right after that is:

NOTE: Dot 5.1 brake fluid is NOT compatible with MATCO mfg brakes, and will damage the Buna-N o-rings used in the system.

Despite my earlier transgression, that is a direct transcription as accurate as I can transcribe 8*)

I think they've evolved over time.

This is by far the hardest lesson about freedom. It goes against
instinct, and morality, to just sit back and watch people make
mistakes. We want to help them, which means control them and their
decisions, but in doing so we actually hurt them (and ourselves)."
