Needless to say, it was somewhat embarrasing to
report back to Tracy that after assuing him the hoses were attached, turns out
they were not. But, Problem solved.

As I was
running the engine full throttle, I couldn't understand why I wasn't getting any
boost from the turbo. Since the wastegate was wide open, I was starting to
think it might just keep the boost at zero. Next, I started very slowly
closing the wastegate, which didn't produce a boost indication (because of the
large leak in the hose) either. The only thing it produced is the
sound of air escaping. I assumed that it was coming from
the pop-off valve, but it sure sounded like it was coming from under the panel
(thud, thud, thud). Fortunately, I have my pop-off valve set for 1.5
psi initially, to protect the engine from this sort
of stupidity :-)
