Ed, If your flap outlet area is 3x20=60sq" .  Your oil cooler inlet is ~24sq" and (at 1:1 ratio) that would leave only ~36sq"/2=18sq" for each rad inlet.   Since they seem larger than that, how do you get by with the relatively small inlet to outlet ratio,  that is less that 1:1? 
 
Does this question make sense?  I'm trying to redesign my oulet size to a total of something larger than inlet area which I estimate at a total ~90sq"

ps.  Would someone precisely define "pressure recovery" for me?
