I do despute the fact that you must give away a great deal in overlap with a PP. The PP has serious flow advantages vs. even BIG side ports which have many problems of their own. The cooler exhaust of the renesis is at the expense of higher coolant temps. We do need to persue bettter mufflers for aircraft though. My point about Tracy is that he has confined his manufacturing process to provid the customer with the tools to do the job, and not the engine at all.
