Hi Bob,

Got the engine back on the aircraft Monday, but discovered I had damaged the oil outlet fitting on  the front cover. Some where dragging the engine to/from the aircraft, we incurred a scrape along the conical part of the male fitting.  After 3 minutes of running found I had an oil leak.

Searched half theday for a fitting or a crushable conical seal.  Naturally no such fitting within 2000 miles of here although one guy did recall seeing the crushable conical seals in a catalog {:>).

But, finally found an auto machine shop 30 miles away where a guy machined the damaged part of the cone of the fitting off.  Installed it this PM and appear to have solved the oil leak.

Engine is producing 6000 rpm static and brakes work, so barring any other problems (and weather cooperating), I intend to Launch Wedneday AM for home.  Its almost a month since I left for Charlies Flyin and I am ready to be home {:>).

Thanks for posting my status reports to the list, hopefully the next one will be posted by me from home.

Best Regards

Ed A.
